The Barton Firtop Basket Filter comprises of a cast vertical 
housing with integral line flanges manufacture to the requirements 
of PED/97/23/EC. Housed in the Basket Filter is a single stainless 
steel Filter Basket which is manufactured from perforated plate 
and lined with mesh to provide the level of filtration required. 

The design of the Basket Filter has a greater filtration area than 
many of our competitors standard units, thus inducing exceptionally 
low pressure losses and providing high dirt holding capacity.

To gain access to the internals of the filter a davit assembly is 
available to remove the cover utilising a hydraulic jack which makes 
the whole process relatively routine. The Filter Basket utilises 
'positive location' within the housing which helps prevent damage 
caused by vibration or oscillation when used in high flow gas service. 
This also guarantees full interchangeability of spares.

As an optional extra, a safety interlock closure is also available to 
ensure that the cover cannot be opened whilst under pressure – 
this is recommended for hazardous and Gas service.
